Proxitane 1523 (15% Peracetic Acid)  เป็นสารละลายของเหลวผสมระหว่าง Peracetic acid, Hydrogen peroxide, Acetic acid และ น้ำ   เป็นสารฆ่าเชื้อโรคที่เหมาะกับการประยุกต์ใช้งานด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม   การฆ่าเชื้อพื้นผิว   การฆ่าเชื้อในผักและผลไม้    และการบำบัดน้ำเสีย  เป็นต้น

PROXITANE® 15:23 is an oxidizing biocide with very rapid biocidal action at ambient or cold temperatures at relatively low concentrations. It has broad spectrum activity and is effective over a wide range of conditions. The activity of PROXITANE® 15:23 is relatively unaffected by organic contamination compared to some other oxidizing biocides. No build-up of resistance to PROXITANE® 15:23 is known despite a long history of use in disinfection applications. PROXITANE® 15:23 has been tested against a wide range of micro-organisms.
Proxitane1523 Peracetic acid is registered with EPA, as required under the Federal Fungicide, Insecticide, and Rodenticide Act, for a wide variety of industrial and commercial uses including wastewater disinfection and the treatment of fruit and vegetable surfaces (Registration number 68860-12).

Proxitane 15:23 เป็นสารฆ่าเชื้อชนิดไบโอไซด์ออกซิไดซ์ (Oxidizing biocide) สามารถฆ่าเชื้อได้อย่างรวดเร็ว  โดยออกฤทธิ์ได้ที่สภาวะอุณหภูมิต่ำและใช้ความเข้มข้นที่ต่ำ  จากการศึกษาพบว่า Proxitane 15:23 สามารถฆ่าเชื้อโรคได้เกือบทุกชนิด
สารปนเปื้อนอินทรีย์ (organic contaminates) ที่มีในระบบ  จะไม่รบกวนการทำงานของ Proxitane 15:23   ซึ่งเป็นข้อดีและข้อได้เปรียบของ Proxitane 15:23 อย่างชัดเจน เมื่อเปรียบเทียบกับสารฆ่าเชื้อชนิดอื่นๆ
