Since there were large amounts ofsuspended solids in the water which caused maintenance and energy lossproblems, it was decided to install a side flow filtration system.
They selected AZUD Disc Filter self-cleaning water filters, which remove both sandy and slimyparticles because of the grooved disc filter media. The unit has a 4” flangedconnection, three double units, 25µ degree of filtration, that cleans aside flow of 240 US gpm (about 6% of the total flow).
The water system is now much cleaner.This is shown by suspended solids analysis, and by the frequency of backwashes:every 40 minutes or base on Quality of Water and Condition at Area Polution.
