Varisco has an extremely wide range of self-priming centrifugal pumps:40 models of the J pump in cast iron, stainless steel and bronze for drainage and industry up to 12", the ST-R trash pumps up to 8" and the ultra light ETP pumps for emergency services up to 4". These products can be combined with numerous accessories in galvanized steel, the new PE HD pipes and the new PVC wellpoint spears.
In addition, given our strength and experience in the sector, we have evolved this family of products to introduce the Z: centrifugal pumps that keep the classic open impeller (with solids handling up to 3") but feature a pumping efficiency over 70%.
J Series, Self-priming centrifugal pumps
Ideal for pumping liquids with solids in suspension. They are for applications where the main feature is the difficulty in priming and are used in the industry, construction and emergency.
Self-priming principle
The air (yellow arrows) is drawn into the pump due to the negative pressure created by the moving impeller and is emulsified with the liquid (blue arrows) contained in the pump casing.
The air-liquid emulsion is forced into the priming chamber where the lighter air is separated and leaves through the discharge pipe; the heavier liquid drops back down into circulation.
Once all of the air has been expelled from the suction pipe, the pump is primed and works like a normal centrifugal pump.
Benefits
-Rapid self-priming without foot valve. Once filled with water, the pump is automatically primed to a height of 7.5 m.
-Easy to install: only the suction pipe needs to be immersed in the liquid. The pump can be located above and in a dry place, in the most suitable location for service and control.
-High resistance to abrasive liquids: turbid, muddy, sandy waters with solids in suspension.
