Welcome innovative German manufacturer Muehlhaeuser to the Mining Equipment family. Our first step into the European market, and we are excited for the opportunity to do what we do best: give contractors the best support in the industry, one project at a time.
Mining Equipment’s first European office, in Breuberg, Germany, will coordinate our expanded supply of locomotives, rolling stock, mine hoists, mine winches, and ventilation equipment in the new market. This offering will be enhanced by Muehlhaeuser’s bold designs, engineering depth, and regional experience.
Muehlhaeuser was founded in 1907 by three Muehlhaeuser brothers. In 2013, The company was later sold to Mining Equipment Ltd., in 2020.
Muehlhaeuser provided equipment for the construction of the Elbe Tunnel, the New York City Subway, the Channel Tunnel and the Gotthard Base Tunnel. After the completion of the Channel Tunnel, Mühlhäuser bought back some of the used equipment and rented it out or sold it refurbished for other tunnel construction projects. For the Gotthard Base Tunnel they built bespoke ambulance trains, fire service trains and a big vacuum cleaner to remove any dust particles from the tunnel
