• Thread Plug Gauge & Thread Ring Gauge Pipe Thread Checking

• When inspecting taper pipe thread (R; Rc,PT) or inspecting taper external thread for fit with taper pipe thread (Rp, PS), a taper thread plug gauge and taper thread ring gauge should form one set. Joint the taper pipe thread gauge to the product thread. If the end of taper pipe thread extends past the notch of the gauge, the thread passes inspection.

• In the 1982 revision fo Pipe Thread standard, JIS B0202 (Parallel Pipe Threads) was adjusted to the standard as per contents of ISO 228/1. The thread mark is shown as "G" and the usual JIS thread symbol "PF" is now stipulated in the appendix. When checking new JIS Pipe thread, use the new thread symbol.
