Shot Blast machines clean by metering a controlled quantity of media on to the spinning blades of motor driven impeller.
Centrifugal force sprays the media in a high velocity stream against the surfaces of rotating parts, cleaning them of scale, flash, rust, paint, and other contaminants.
Shot peening is also a very common application which uses blasting media to hammer and compress the top surface layer of the part, strengthening the surface and increasing crack and fatigue resistance.
During the blast process the media is automatically recovered, cleaned, and feed back to the blast wheel.
Except for parts loading/unloading, the process is automatic and operator free.
